In the last few years, green has become as much a marketing strategy as a philosophy. But for designer Shelley Penner, it’s simply at the core of who she is and what her design firm, Penner & Associates Interior Design Inc., is all about.
Operating since the mid ’90s, the Vancouver-based firm has become a design destination for those seeking clean aesthetics and a healthy dose of green. Despite its green reputation, Penner, director of practice, says the firm focuses on good design first. "A lot of times if the basis is good design its a non-issue. "We don’t market specifically to people who are seeking green — it just so happens that we have such a long standing history in that field," she says. "Green design is integral to our practice and whether it’s a client who has come to us specifically for that overlay or not we integrate green strategies and products and we have a sensitivity to know when it’s something we really need to persuade the client to move toward."| < Prev | Next > |
